About Us

Your hosts are Julia and Phil. This is our home which has been in our family for a couple of generations.

We have found that the majority of our guests have come to enjoy our extremely relaxing rural surroundings - a great hideaway to escape the pressures of urban Nairobi

If this is what you are looking for only 45 minutes from central Nairobi
we look forward to welcoming you!

There are 2 double rooms & 1 twin room

The Cedar Room, with king-size four poster bed, en-suite bathroom, private balcony and sitting and writing area. (Currently not available for booking).

The Garden Room, with king-size bed, en-suite bathroom and French windows opening into the garden.

The Jacaranda Room, with twin beds (can be joined together) and a private bathroom.

The front veranda enjoys wonderful views of the Ngong Hills; this is where we often serve breakfast.

There is a large sitting room and dining room with fireplace.

This is a modernised farmhouse dating from the 1940s. We have an extensive garden with a pond and flower beds and 24 acres of fields dropping down to indigenous woodland on our boundary with the Ruaka River.

We farm a small number of Jersey cows.

Things to do

There are a number of walking trails through our indigenous forest, which is frequented by Sykes and Colobus monkeys as well as prolific birdlife. You can roam around the grounds at your leisure or sit on the veranda and take in the view of the Ngong Hills.

There is a swimming pool - 6 x 12 metres..

We are 7 kilometres from the Limuru Country Club with extensive golfing facilities; and are just over one kilometre from the Kentmere Club, which is open to all and has a bar and restaurant as well as beautiful grounds.

We are only 10 minutes from the home of Brown's cheese  Details of their lunches, factory tours and tastings can be found here at the  Brown's Cheese tours web pages

The ever popular Kiambethu Tea Farm lunch and tour is around 10 minutes away

Where we are

We are in the highlands at an elevation of around 2000 metres, just at the start of the tea growing region of Tigoni and only 45 minutes travel from most parts of Nairobi.

We are conveniently located for access to the Thika dual carriageway for those heading north to the Mt Kenya region or the Naivasha highway for the Rift valley and further west to the Masai Mara.
